Gynecomastia surgery reduces breast size in men and flattens and strengthens the contours of the chest.
In severe cases of gynecomastia, the weight of excess breast tissue may cause the breasts to sag and stretch the areola (the dark skin surrounding the nipple). In these cases, the position and size of the areola can be surgically improved and excess skin reduced.
Plastic surgery to correct gynecomastia is technically called breast reduction surgery.
What is gynecomastia?
Gynecomastia is a condition of enlarged or enlarged breasts in men and it can occur at any age. The condition can be the result of hormonal changes, genetics, obesity, or the use of certain medications.
Gynecomastia can cause emotional discomfort and erode your confidence. Some men may avoid certain physical and intimate activities just to hide their condition.
Gynecomastia is characterized by:

- Excess glandular tissue growth
- Sometimes excess breast skin
- Being unilateral (one breast) or bilateral (both breasts)
